How to Get a Date for Valentine’s Day

By Jordan Harbinger, The Art of Charm

Granted, Valentine?s Day is definitely kind of a chick holiday. But you aren?t the first guy to be crying into your beer because you don?t have a date for V-Day. In fact, the single man?s depression tends to peak around this time of year. Ok, I just made that up, but hey — it totally might be true. Possibly. Anyone looking to score a last minute date for Valentine?s Day take heart: It?s not as hard as you think. Take heed.

Friends Make Good Lovers

If you?re an outgoing, social kind of guy, chances are pretty good that you have single female friends with nothing to do on Valentine?s Day. Here?s the kicker: At least one of them has to be worth to share your bed with you for the night. Don?t assume that nothing can blossom with your lady friends. Many of the best relationships start off as friendships and then progress to something more. You know you?ve thought about balling her at least once. Just ask her out. And don?t make a joke out of it, either. That?s a total lady-boner killer.

Speed Dating

Speed dating is admittedly kind of ridiculous. But it works and it?s also cheap, usually under $40 for the night. Go with a bro and you?ll have some stories to swam. Who knows? You might even end up Eskimo Bros sooner than you think. In the worst case scenario you?re going to be out some change and have a cool story to tell your friends. Best case scenario? Some V-Day nookie.

Step Up Your Game

Go back and read the first paragraph of this article. There are two related things you need to take away from this. First, that chicks love Valentine?s Day. Second, that it?s not hard to get a last minute V-Day date. Why? Because… chicks LOVE Valentine?s Day. Many of them get totally desperate to find a date right before the big day and that?s where your ?A? game is going to come in handy. We?re not saying you need to be anything but your best self. That?s really all it?s going to take. You want a little secret, dudes? Some chicks just want someone to be nice to them.

Ask Your Friends

We get that trying to beg a date off your friends isn?t exactly what you had in mind for Valentine?s Day, but whatever. Ask around, see which friends have friends who are jonesing for a Valentine?s Date, make sure she doesn?t have a mustache and see if she might want to do something. However, I recommend a touch of discretion here. Few things turn ladies off more than the stench of desperation. Putting the word out on the wire will make sure that you have a bigger pool to select from.

Get Online

OKCupid is a total meat market. Even more ?serious? dating sites like Match.com are filled with women who are looking for some romance in their lives. And, brother, it?s Valentine?s Day…and they?re single. Few places are going to give you quite the repository of single women looking for some male attention as online dating websites. Best of all, you get to sort through and find the fine ones before you actually ask them out.

Get A Date!

Even if you end up dateless for V-Day, don?t worry my friend. Get your crew together and head out for a night on the town. Because for every single man out on V-day, there?s a single lady desperate to be swept off her feet. Godspeed, gentlemen.
